Being outdoors and pushing myself beyond what I thought my body was capable of is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I have goals that sometimes seem impossible. These goals keep me sleeping well, eating well, and pushing myself to stick to my training plan. Once I reach the top of one mountain all I see is the next. I've learned to never say "I can't do that." Though I've been racing for years, at 35 I'm just getting started working toward my true goals.
The "goat" in UltraGoat comes from my natural ability to climb, both in mountain biking and running. "Ultra" comes from my preference for ultra distance races (you know, the really, really long ones).
I'm also certified as a personal trainer and I offer online training programs. I have been certified through the American Council on Exercise for 9 years. I've worked with people of all ages and with all different goals. I have taken extra courses in training endurance athletes and sports nutrition.
